Cincinnati Reds Fan Headed For Bench

JUNE 18--Meet Chris Rich.

The 28-year-old Kentucky man was arrested Monday night after allegedly stealing a framed photo of Johnny Bench from the clubhouse of the Great American Ball Park, home to the Cincinnati Reds. According to a Hamilton County Sheriff's report, Rich--who identified himself as a pilot--made a run for it after swiping the picture of the Hall of Fame catcher.

But the getaway ended when cops tackled Rich, who landed in the hospital for treatment of cuts and abrasions suffered when his noggin met the concrete floor. And while the photo, valued at $100, wasn't damaged in the struggle, the same can't be said for poor Rich. (2 pages)
